Literally lost in the book
By good for passing time
I loved this book! It was a wonderful read and had an interesting side story. I was worried I wouldn't like it since I love the movie, but it didn't take away from the movie storyline. In fact, it added a bit of the pieces of how they fell in love. I would recommend it to any Beauty and the Beast fan.

Good addition to the movie.

I thought Lost in a Book was a good addition to the story. I liked that the story was related to the movie, and the readers got to see how Belle struggled with being in the castle. I thought the ending was obvious, but decent. Belle seems a little unobservant in this. I feel like she would not be so ditzy, and in some parts of the book I find it hard to believe. With that being said, I fall in love with Chip every time I read/watch anything to do with Beauty and the Beast. Great character development. If you like Beauty and the Beast, this will be a great read.

About the Author
David Krohne is Professor of Biology at Wabash College, where he is currently the department chair. He has spent almost all of his 18-year teaching career there, teaching several biology courses including ecology and advanced ecology. An active researcher, Dr. Krohne's work focuses primarily on the effects of habitat fragmentation on populations. Recently, he has become interested in the demography and genetics of threatened and endangered prairie plants isolated in small remnant populations. Dr. Krohne has authored scientific papers for many journals, including the Canadian Journal of Zoology and Oecologia, and he also writes a syndicated newspaper column on current developments in science called "The Science Notebook."

This is for my ecology class. I had a hard time making the big connection to the major subdisciplines of ecology. I would definitely go with a book whose information is more organized. This read more like non-fiction novel than a textbook. It was required for class.

Lihui Wang is a professor of virtual manufacturing at the University of Skövde’s Virtual Systems Research Centre in Sweden. He was previously a senior research scientist at the Integrated Manufacturing Technologies Institute, National Research Council of Canada. He is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the University of Western Ontario, and a registered professional engineer in Canada. His research interests and responsibilities are in web-based and sensor-driven real-time monitoring and control, distributed machining process planning, adaptive assembly planning, collaborative design, supply chain management, as well as intelligent and adaptive manufacturing systems. Dr. Robert X. Gao is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA. He received his B.S. degree from China, and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the Technical University Berlin, Germany, in 1982, 1985, and 1991, respectively. Since starting his academic career in 1992, he has been conducting research in the general area of embedded sensors and sensor networks, "smart" electromechanical systems, wireless data communication, and signal processing for machine health monitoring, diagnosis, and prognosis. Dr. Gao has published over 100 refereed papers on journals and international conferences, and has one US patent and two pending patent applications on sensing. He is an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, and served as the Guest Editor for the Special Issue on Sensors of the ASME Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, published in June, 2004. Condition-based Monitoring and Control for Intelligent Manufacturing has arisen from the Flexible Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing (FAIM 2004) conference, held in Toronto, Canada on July12-14 2004. Don't Even Bother

This book was absolutely terrible. I gave it one star because I couldn't go any lower and because the heroine was o.k. It is a rich man-poor girl Cinderelly kind of story. But it was awful. Blaze was the BIGGEST jerk throughout the whole book and even in the end he didn't show the slighest indication that he had changed. Chrissy was too stupid! The Big Misunderstanding was completely her fault because she was trying to spare the feelings of too many people instead of thinking about the consequences of her actions. Blaze had no good qualities at all. He treated the heroine like a servant, even after he married her. And Chrissy never found her back bone.
The book could have been good because it had a good premise. Instead it felt like we jumped into the middle of the story; it felt like there were pages of dialogue missing; and you NEVER, NOT ONCE found out what Blaze was thinking. It was all totally Chrissy's point of view. And the ending was totally rushed. Everything was wrapped up in about 5 paragraphs. This book was a big disappointment.

If you like Cinderella stories in which fate throws together a hand some, rich , successful and famous man with a plain, struggling working girl and makes him fall for her, this is the book which satisfies you. It is good escapism for women who have not married Prince Charming.

I love love love this book.

I had some how missed Lynne Graham's books. Until I read this one. I love this book. I went out and read everything else she has ever written. It is so funny an sad. The heros Blaze & Cristy are so wonderful. He thinks he is a rock but he just melts for Cristy.

Simply Amazing

So far so good! This book has really stopped me in my tracks to take a closer/deeper look into my life and realize what God's plan is for me. Each Devotion feels so personally related to your life it almost scary but Joyce Meyer explains it all in a format that even I could understand. This book is wonderful, I highly recommend it.

My Joyce Myers Devotion book was a couple of days late, but that is ok, things like that happen once in a while. JOYCE MYERERS IS A VERY GOOD WRITER, AND SHE KNOWS THE BIBLE EXTREMELY WELL. THIS DEVOTION BOOK WILL GET USED EVERYDAY. I HAVE READ A LOT OF JOYCE MYERS BOOKS, BESIDE THE DEVOTIONS. A GREAT AUTHOR.. Jim in Ohio

Absolutely Life Changing!!!!

I received this book only a few days after I ordered it. The very next day after receiving the book I opened it, believe it or not the very page I opened it to was the day I was suppose to read. The book has the month and day at the top of each page and I opened it on the exact day it was! Wow...what a sign, then the title, and devotional was hitting directly on the issue that was current for the day! My suggestion to you is listen to your intuition (gut) feeling, there is a reason you are looking at this book! It is WORTH every penny and then some!

Excellent text book

Excellent text book. The topics are neatly laid out and clearly explained. I can see that the book is written keeping in mind the common pitfalls a novice reader may experience. There are several instances were the author has given examples of misconceptions and ways to avoid it. Very simple reading, though the problems are tough! I tried several of them and found that they thoroughly test your understanding of the subject rather than your capability to memorize a couple of formula. A very good book for beginners as well as any advanced readers who want to have a clear understanding of signal processing.
I feel sorry for the person who wrote the first review as he/she is missing out the excellence of this textbook. This book could have enhanced his/hers knowledge of signal processing by a great margin.
I look forward for textbooks from Dr.Stuller on other advanced topics in signal processing.

Theory With Zero Reinforcement

This textbook contains zero example problems (as in worked-out problems comparable to the end-of-chapter problems) and zero answers in the back of the book; if a textbook is going to ask end-of-chapter questions, they should at least be similar to what is encountered throughout the chapter. This may teach theory "correctly", but is an embarrassingly TERRIBLE way to reinforce concepts to new students. The fact that a solutions manual is IMPOSSIBLE to find doesn't help things, either... I would advise any college professors who are interested in using this text in their classes to look elsewhere--you may love the book, but your students won't.

Took this class with the author

Even when the author is right in front of you teaching the material from this book, it's still terrible. For a beginning class on Signals and Systems, it's fairly advanced for an undergraduate electrical engineering student. I managed to pass with a low A only after we managed to find the solutions manual online and learn from that. If you're looking for a textbook on Signals and Systems at an undergraduate level, I would NOT look here. AVOID.
